Langkawi 4D3N

It's been 1 week since our Langkawi trip, so while our memories are still fresh, we're gonna post on this Langkawi Trip! So we booked our flight+hotel through Expedia!
It was the 2nd time we used Expedia cos the 1st time was a good experience, recommend to those who stay at the same place the whole time during the trip. They have discounts when you booked both Flight+ Hotel!

We choose:
 Flight:  Air asia as it was the cheapest.

Hotel: Bayview Hotel as it is not expensive, looks nice! At Kuah area.
- 3 Nights (daily breakfast buffet included)
- Additional of RM3 per room per night

Total Cost:  SGD308 per room per pax

Our Langkawi Adventure Begins!

Day 1:

We arrived at langkawi island around 12 pm noon. Total there are 6 of us with carry on baggage as we travel with Air Asia. We booked a 7-seater Toyota Sienta through Big Thumb car rental service. I must say this is one of the cheaper car rental company. It cost approx. 500RM for a 3 days usage of the car.

The first stop： The Loaf. A bakery/ cafe opened by ex-prime minister Dr Mahathir. It sells Japanese bread and some western/asian fusion cuisine. However the pricing here is quite steep.

Next we proceed on to make our way to Oriental village, where we spent half of our day touring the attractions. The village is actually sort of a mini-theme park where people can visit the famous sky cab in langkawi (hearsay its top 20 in the world!)

The entry tickets are sold at directly at the counter and there are some packages which we can choose from. Unfortunately we did not take photos of the packages offered. We opted for the most basic package which consist of the SkyCab, 3D museum and 2 other attractions which we did not have time to visit.

 Taking the sky cab it will bring you to the peak of some sort of a mountain. There it lies a magnificent bridge which is famous in langkawi.It is a bridge hanging in between the mountains with some exhilarating view. （Do take note that you will still be required to pay to get to the sky bridge either through a 200 meter hike or a elevator (which will cost more but the queue is crazy)).

Next after the sky bridge we went back down and made our way to the 3D museum. It is the typical 3D Museum we see in Korea and Singapore， nothing special except that it is the largest in the world hahaa.

 After the 3D museum, we skip the 2 other attractions sky Dome and one more which i forgot the name. We read some reviews online and heard that it was boring. We wanted to visit the 7 wells waterfall and since the sky was getting dark we decided to move on to the waterfall.

It will take approx a 5 mins drive to the waterfall from the village and another 10 min hike before we enter the water fall area. The scenery is amazing and the water is crystal clear. Too bad we didnt swim in the waterfall. After this we went back to our hotel, Bayview at Kuah.

We had our dinner at a rather local tze char stall called TEO restaurant. One thing to recommend was the Pipa duck which was some sort of a secret menu thing. After dinner we went back to hotel to chill with some cheap beer that we bought at the DFS shop. 

Day 2:

We started our day with the complimentary breakfast offered by the hotel. After that we set off to the Geopark. This is one of the natural heritage preserved by UNESCO and a must visit for those going to Langkawi. (Just a tip here: if you can speak Malay you can try to ask for some discount)

A 2 hour tour will typically cos you around 350RM for a whole boat. We got a discount at 250RM instead hehe :p

After the eagle feeding we went back to the fish farm to enjoy our lunch which was prepared when we were still touring.

After the tour we went on to Tanjong Rhu beach. It is a small beach where we can see people parasailing and riding water motor bike.

We drank coconut water and some local street food by the beach

 Next we visited the famous eagle square in Langkawi. Its near the jetty in langkawi a must visit for photo taking!

Finally we had dinner at Rootian restaurant near our lodging. The food is nice! The seafood is fresh especially the flower crabs were so sweet! 

The curry fishhead was nice too, it was like JB's Kam Long's curry fishhead.

Day 3

As it was raining in the morning, we decided to go for some indoor attractions first and we headed to the Langkawi underwater world (near Cenang):

There were a lot of different kind of fishes, penguins, seals, a tunnel with fishes like stingray, sharks etc.

There was this section with the pretty fishes and corals.

 Then we headed to Cenang Mall for KFC lunch because most of the shops around were closed in the afternoon and we felt we had too much seafood.

We then booked a island hopping tour at Cenang Mall. They drove us to the pier and we got on this speedboat. It is really a speedboat, the driver was really going at very high speeds, it was an exciting ride.

And so the driver drove us to the pregnant woman lake, Dayang Bunting, and soaked our feets to let the catfish slide pass our feets. The feeling is really funny and ticklish haha. You can choose to swim at the lake - but remember to bring your lifejackets with you. You can also choose to kayak/ paddle boat here too! There are a lot of monkeyssss so beware of your belongings!

After 1 hr here, we went to see eagle-feeding. (yup, again but it's included in the package so let's jujst watch the magnificent eagles soar through the sky again!)

Next up, Pulau Beras Basah!
This is the last item of the island hopping trip.

I would say this is sort of a 照骗 because it doesn't look so pretty in real life? And there is nothing much here to do, other than swimming. But there's no toilet here so after you swim, you can't wash up (except for this well where you can water).

 

 So after the island hopping tour, we went back to Cenang Mall to get our car and headed to Orchid Ria for dinner!

I am sorry this photo doesn't help anyway because I took when the fish that we ordered isn't even here. The fish was the same as the one from the fish farm but the cooking style is different, we asked them to cook in the steamed style and it was really great!

 After strolling along the beach after our dinner we headed back to Kuah for the Kuah Night Market (only on Sat).

A lot of local street food was sold here and are very cheap!

Day 4

We still had some time before our flight so after our buffet breakfast at the hotel, we went to Kopi Kedah 123 as my sister's colleague highly recommend their ban mian!

We ordered the tapioca ban mian (the dough was made with tapioca). They would have other type of ban mian depending - when my sis's colleagues went, she tried the black sesame ban mian. They hand-made the ban mian.

Then we went to the Langkawi wildlife park:

 This wildlife park is really interactive. You get to buy animal feed and feed the animals! They have a sign to tell you what type of animal feed to feed them.

 After the wild life park, we went to Pia (it has pretty good reviews in TripAdvisor) and decided to give it a try since it is on our way to Langkawi Airport. As per the reviews, the food are really nice but the pricing is really steep (much steeper than that of The Loaf).

And we proceed to the airport to return our rented car and had our lunch at MarryBrown!

Ok and then we returned to Singapore and back to work.
This Langkawi trip was really an enjoyable trip and it was quite relaxed as we didn't had to rush - we had 4 days to clear the attractions that we wanted to visit.
