It's been 2 months since our Bangkok trip, initially we wanted to post this since like last month. So we booked our flight+hotel through Expedia!
It was the first time we used Expedia but it was really a good experience, recommend to those who stay at the same place the whole time during the trip. They have discounts when you booked both Flight+ Hotel!

We choose:
 Flight:  Scoot as it was the cheapest.
- We added luggage and travel insurance.

Hotel: Centara Watergate Pavillion Hotel as it is not expensive, looks nice and it's at Pratunam!
- 5 Nights
- Deposit of SGD50 per night
 Total Cost:  SGD385 per pax

Day 0
Scoot to Bangkok from Singapore!
We reached Don Meaung Airport Bangkok at around 11pm (BKK time).
You can buy the SIM card at the airport.
Tips: Queue for the taxi (they are metered - definitely much cheaper)
Cost around 170BHT from Airport to our hotel - Centara Watergate!
The entrance of the Centara Watergate is like along an alley so even the driver had troubles finding it haha.


Day 1

Sab x2 Wanton Mee. The highly raved wanton mee and a must-eats, so since it is so highly praised, we were excited and had this wanton mee for the first meal we had in Bangkok.

The bowl was big but the portion was meh and it is not cheap. 100 Baht for this bowl of noodle.
I must admit it tasted good, simple yet tasty; but for the price and portion it was just so-so.

Then we did some shopping at The Platinum Fashion Mall, there are a lot a lot a lot of shops that sell clothes, accessories, bags, shoes etc. Imagine 6 storeys Bugis  street with airconditions. The top floor has a food court, which is pretty good.

Then we got a tuk tuk to Som Tum Nua (150 Baht) - which we bargained from 250. We thought we made a good deal but realised 150 Baht is still so ex, because it was quite a short distance.

We waited for some time before we could get a seat, yeah it's popular!

Gai Tod (Fried Chicken)

Som Tum (Papaya salad) - there were different kind of Som Tum to choose from! Refreshing and crunchy!

This was delicious! Stir-fried Thai Rice Flour Noodles. The pork floss and their noodles was really good. We enjoyed this dish the most.

After the lunch, we went and walked around the Siam area, which is the atas shopping area.

Deeply in love with Pablo's mini cheesetart since I ate it in Japan that time, and so happy to found it and they have the Matcha flavour. So good and flowy matcha cheeseeeeeee

So we walked to MBK Shopping, in search of a Selfie light, MBK is a shopping centre for electronic goods. Didn't found a cheap one, is it cos it became touristy?
Went to the get a taxi at MBK to Silom (Chinatown), we need to get a queue number to queue for taxi and there are seats for you in the AC room while you wait for your turn, customer service no. 1! And the taxis are all metered ;)

Silom Night Market. Fried worms, scorpions. We tried the fat silk worms, and I quite like it.

We then took a tuk tuk back to Platinum Fashion Mall (because the taxi driver didn't know where our hotel was at). And at that time, there were freee tuk tuk service from Platinum Fashion Mall to the new night market, Talad Neon so we just hop on.

Talad neon is quite cool and we went there again, so I will talk about it later!


Day 2

GrabTaxi is really good because we get to take metered taxi although there's a booking fee, but still affordable!

Pig Organ's Kway Chap (This is very good and bf likes it a lot, did you see the Pig's blood cube!)

Fish Ball Bee Hoon. Nom Nom, love the crispy shallots and the crackers (?) which added much flavour to the bowl.

We missed the 3hr boat tour that allow us to visit other floating markets, so we joined a short boat tour of 1 hr around the area.
The boat tour was pretty cool as we get to enjoy the boat ride and enjoy the scenic views and to experience how people who stay near the river travelled around.

 After the boat tour, we had lunch at the floating market eating place.
The lady was charcoal grilling these fished on the boat:

Picture doesnt do justice to this delicious fish, we really love this a lot!! And it's quite cheap, 180 for the whole fish, served with some greens and the homemade chilli. Must try!

 After lunch, we were still too early for Asiatique and I remembered seeing a post on this super cute bear cafe at bangkok. Did a quick research and found that the cafe was pretty near to where we were.

We GrabTaxi over there! And present to you Villa de Bear!

It was really big and Wahhhhh and cuteeeee! It's so pretty and a very instagrammable place! The food is pretty and there are really a lot of photo spots, even the toilets are decorated.
As I don't want to flood this blog post with on this cafe, I shall only just pick a few.

After the spamming of photos, we took a cab to the nearest BTS Bang Wa station and then took the BTS to Saphan Thaksin Station and take the free shuttle boat service at Sathorn Pier

There isn't much at Asiatique, many shops that help you DIY your passport holders (80-100Baht) and shops that sell clothes, souvenirs (hand made soaps, bangkok style coin pouches etc.)
There were quite a bit of restaurants where you can enjoy the seaview and the ferris wheel.

Next up, Mookata buffet near BTS Victory Monument: Pla Tong Mookata.
Cheap and good Mookata (169 Baht per person!) ~SGD8
Free flow of meat (pork, chicken, squid) and veges and mushrooms and cooked food (finger food).

Day 3
Time for some chatuchak action!!!
How can we miss out the famous chatuchak weekend market when we visit Bangkok.

Mainly shopping and street food in the area, however nothing special apart from the scorching sun and sweltering heat. However one special note is that there is a section where they sell pets. The pets range from crayfish to puppies all you can think of. Even exotic creatures are sold there! But do take note the area is not very hygienic and there is a slight smell.

Next after chatuchak, we went on to ARTBOX in bangkok. Hearsay artbox started from bkk, after going this you will feel that the one in Singapore is crap. The real artbox is spacious and have plenty of walk space for you to shop and eat. But to take note just reach there at around 5pm as the opening hours for the stalls are quite late.

The food that are sold in artbox are more of the finger food type. But they are also hipster food where you can take photos ooooo!

After artbox we set off to talad neon, one the newest night market in pratunam area. It is very clean for a night market standard and all the stuff sold over there are actually quite trendy! However take note that it only open from Thursday to Sunday. 

DAY 4

GO-ANG Chicken rice

For breakfast we went to eat the famous chicken rice in pratunam. Weird right eating chicken rice in thailand. Apparently this chicken rice is quite famous and is owned by a chinese. Don't look at the appearance it is actually quite nice. However compared to Singapore chicken rice standard still a far cry.

SAWADEE MCDS

Next we decide to eat mcds as a second breakfast. I wanted to try Mcpork hahaha thus bothering my gf to go. Nothing special though but the special pose of ronald makes up for it hehe.

Lunch we went over to After you cafe in Central World. We ordered the shibuya toast with banana.

WORTH IT, the bread was so soft and fluffy on the inside and crispy and hot on the outside. Those going BKK should definitely visit and have a try.

Next we went on to have lunch at Big C (we cant possibly fill our stomach with dessert right?). But the main motive at Big C is to shop for snacks! Its a megamall with a huge section selling all sort of snacks. (Tip here: They do have cardboard box for you to put your snacks and bring it back)

After Big C we went to have  Chinese food at pratunam area. Not very worth it and chinese Tze Char in BKK is so expensive.....

Next we went back to hotel and decide to dress up and go to the rooftop bar. Our first experience on a roof top bar! Act abit of atas and had 2 cocktail pretending to be people living da life hahahaha.

However the lighting on top is quite bad for photo taking :(

Day 5

Last day of our trip! Our flight will be in the noon hence nothing much to do except for packing up.

We proceed to eat our breakfast on the BKK street, eating something like kueh. It was quite nice and cost only 10 baht for one big piece!

We took our last meal in Thailand at MK restaurant. One of the famous chain restaurant in BKK. The steamboat was a meh but the roast duck was good and highly recommended!!
